IVANKA TRUMP at the MET Costume Institute 2010 BALL

TEXT, VIVIAN G. KELLY-VAN ZUTPHEN

If you’re a princess of any kind, you’ll want to attend this annual event that takes place at the MET, every year in early May.
This year, the ball was held in honor of the AMERICAN WOMAN. The show is titled, American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity.
As usual, Anna Wintour was the driving force in pulling this exhibit and ball together. Vogue is one of the major monetary forces that keeps The Costume Institute up and running. This year, Anna had co-chairs Oprah Winfrey and Patrick Robinson, Creative Director for Gap to help out.
Next to the Academy Awards, this is the most-watched Red Carpet and is even more interesting because you get a variety of princess: Hollywood, Society and Fashion. Depending on who sponsored the show, you’re never quite certain who will be in attendance.
One of our favorites was IVANKA TRUMP. She’s the perfect example of the Modern American Woman. She’s a talented jewelry designer, savvy businesswoman, TV personality, and a social figure, all wrapped in one elegant package.
Ivanka wore a Versace Atelier gown and of course, Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry. She shows us how to wear “important diamonds” in a freespirited way. Her mixed cut long diamond earrings with rock crystal drops and Pagoda Emerald cut ring and Pagoda link bracelet looked both elegant and contemporary.

American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity is open to the public from May 5 - August 15 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. For further information, www.metmuseum.org
